Recently retired Richmond champion Alex Rance is coming to Westfield Knox.
The former full back and five-time All-Australian announced his retirement from the AFL in December to focus on his personal life and business –—elite footy development school The Academy.
Now the premiership player is promoting his third children’s book, Monkey’s Tail, which comes after his other hard cover illustrated children’s books Tiger’s Roar and Rabbit’s Hop at Dymocks Knox City.
Shop manager James Gatherum-Goff said this would be the third time Rance would visit the store a signing, with his previous visit attracting more than 300 fans.
Mr Gatherum-Goff said Rance’s new book was about resilience and confidence after the monkey hurts himself and can’t play with his friends.
Last year the bookshop hosted Richmond great Dustin Martin who was publicising his book Dustin Martin: My Story So Far, which went on sale in November.
Mr Gatherum-Goff recommended arriving early for the event, which was expected to be quite popular.

He said Martin’s fans lined up for the event from 6am for the 3.30pm event on Sunday, December 1.
Mr Gatherum-Goff said Rance was very generous with his time, and warm and engaging with the children.
The book signing is from 4 to 6pm on Monday, March 2.
