Warburton crime: Yarra River Walk teen reports pervert near Redwood Centre

A man is being hunted after he allegedly performed a disgusting act while staring at a teen girl along a popular Yarra Valley walking track.

A creepy perve, who hid behind some bushes in Warburton as he eyed a teenage girl, is being hunted by police.

Knox sexual offences and child abuse detectives are investigating after a 17-year-old girl was strolling along the Yarra River Walk, near the Redwood Centre, when she noticed a man masturbating about 6.10pm on Sunday, January 10.

Victoria Police media advisor Sam Bidey said the man looked at the teen while performing a sex act before hiding behind bushes and fleeing the scene when some walkers approached.

Police believe this man can help with the investigation.

Mr Bidey said the man had a beard, an olive complexion, was average build with dark hair.

He said police have released a digitally generated image of a man they believe could help with their inquiries.
