A man screamed abuse, shoved and stood over an eastern suburbs developer because he was angry about noise and debris, a court has heard.
Vincent Ascenzo pleaded guilty at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on March 5 following the 2018 altercation at a Boronia block of units that was being built near his home.
Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Lisa Stillman told the court the developer was doing a routine site check in late 2018 when Ascenzo angrily confronted him and started yelling abuse.
She told the court Ascenzo demanded payment for his neighbour’s punctured car tyre that he said was caused by debris left on the road by builders.
He also complained about the level of noise coming from the site and called the developer a “little c-”, Leading Sen-Constable Stillman told the court.

Feeling intimidated, the man tried to back away but was shoved by Ascenzo, who continued to stand over him and yell aggressively, she told the court.
And when the developer tried to get into his car and flee, Ascenzo first blocked the path of the man’s vehicle before punching the car.
Ascenzo denied pushing the developer or punching his car when he was later interviewed by police, Leading Sen-Constable Stillman told the court, before changing his plea in court.
Magistrate Doug Bolster convicted and fined him $400.
