The German beer party season is upon us and Oktoberfest at The Bavarian is set to last for six weeks of fun.
Starting this Saturday, there will be plenty to eat at the Wantirna South hot spot, with delicatessen platters, giant pork schnitzel, fresh salads and sweet treats including the “haus-made” apple strudel.
Director of Bavarian Brands Rebecca O’Shea said there would also be limited-edition Oktoberfest beers, and an exclusive Oktoberfest haus party on Saturday October 12.
“We have a fantastic Oktoberfest set menu on offer through the six-week celebrations, which run from Saturday September 21 to Sunday October 27,” Ms O’Shea said.
“The Oktoberfest menu is $79 per person and features three classic Bavarian dishes, a 1-litre stein of beer and a schnapps shot, and includes a limited-edition Oktoberfest showbag valued at over $160.
“The canvas bag is jam-packed with fun gifts and prizes, including a mini stein, restaurant vouchers, discount and freebies, playing cards, an Oktoberfest T-shirt, a bottle opener and other surprises.”

She said the Bavarian Knox will have four official Oktoberfestbiers on tap: Hofbräu München, Löwenbräu, Spaten and Paulaner.
“These are brewed in Bavaria, just for Oktoberfest, and are available for a limited time,” Ms O’Shea said.
“There are also two other Oktoberfestbiers that have been brewed locally for The Bavarian’s celebrations: Pirate Life Fiestbier and 4 Pines Kellar Door Schwartzbier.”
The Oktoberfest haus party on Saturday, October 12, will include fun games and challenges taking place throughout the evening, including yodelling, stein holding and a pretzel eating competition.
There will also be a quirky oompah band playing traditional tunes from 6pm until late.
Ms O’Shea said they were encouraging all partygoers to dress up in their best Oktoberfest outfits, for the chance to win a $200 restaurant voucher.
The Bavarian Knox will end Oktoberfest on a high, with a closing party taking place on Saturday October 26 from 6pm. There will be more entertaining games, challenges and dress-up competitions.
