A Noble Park man has been charged after allegedly breaking into four homes in Melbourne’s south east while victims slept.

Knox police arrested a man on Sunday, April 3 in relation to four aggravated burglaries – one in Chadstone, and three in Rowville, where the man allegedly stole two cars and property.

Knox CIU detective Acting Sergeant Nicole Baxter said the man allegedly committed the first burglary in Chadstone on April 2, stealing a car, before travelling to Rowville, where he dumped the car and allegedly committed a further three aggravated burglaries, walking from home to home, in the early hours of April 3.

Sgt Baxter said during one of the alleged Rowville burglaries a victim woke up after hearing the man moving around in the house and had a verbal altercation with the man, who had allegedly taken a knife from inside the home.

The man then fled and the victim wasn’t injured.

A Noble Park man, 19, was arrested a short distance away from the alleged Rowville burglaries.

He was charged and remanded to face court at a later date.
