A realigned pedestrian crossing and flashing give-way signs are among the improvements to a deadly Ringwood intersection.
The State Government has completed $250,000 in safety upgrades to the intersection at Maroondah Highway, Dampier Grove and Heatherdale Rd.
The intersection came under scrutiny after Aivy Nguyen, 14, was tragically killed when she was hit by a truck while crossing Maroondah Highway in May.

TRIBUTES FLOW FOR RINGWOOD TEEN
Ringwood state Labor MP Dustin Halse met VicRoads engineers and announced the completion of the project last week.
“We acknowledge the tragedy that occurred here and the community pressure and support that was put on all sides of politics to make sure this intersection was upgraded,” Mr Halse said.
VicRoads spokesman Adian McGann said engineers realigned the crossing from Dampier Grove to make it clearer for motorists turning left onto Maroondah Highway to see pedestrians.
Other upgrades include new line markings and LED give-way signs, which are activated when a pedestrian gets halfway across Maroondah Highway.
There are also new turning arrows and longer crossing times.
Community members campaigned for safety upgrades at the intersection, eventually pledged by the State Government in July.
Works began in late November and were finished six weeks later.
Heatherdale Community Action Group spokeswoman Elwynne Kift welcomed the upgrades but called on Mr Halse to secure U-turn signs on Maroondah Highway to make the intersection even safer.
No one has been charged over Ms Nguyen’s death and Victoria Police has referred the matter to the coroner.
