Police chase ends in crash in Mt Evelyn
A woman has been arrested after allegedly ramming her car into a police vehicle before leading them on a chase in Melbourne’s outer east. The pursuit only ended when she crashed into an innocent motorist.

A police chase from Lilydale to Mt Evelyn has ended with the driver crashing into another car and being taken to hospital.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said police began pursuing a woman after she was allegedly seen “driving erratically” around Lilydale about 2pm.
The driver allegedly tried to ram a police car before driving away.
Officers then pursued the woman from Lilydale to Mt Evelyn, where her car came to a stop after it collided with another car.

Ms Batty said the woman was arrested and taken to hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and was assessed by paramedics at the scene.
Lilydale and Mt Evelyn residents took to Facebook to report a helicopter flying over the area at the time.
