PUPPACHINOS have joined pancakes on the menu at Knox Pancake Parlour — the first in Melbourne with a dedicated doggie dining area.
The chain has opened up its outdoor section as a dog-friendly section.
It has hosted meet-ups of dogs and their owners and passed the sniff test of our taste-tester Ruby the pug (pictured).
Dogs are served with their own disposable doggie dinnerware and are restricted to special dog-only treats from the menu, so they can have “pupcakes’’ but not pancakes.
The outdoor area can seat up to 60 diners and accommodates dogs.
Pancake Parlour managing director Mandy David, herself a dog owner, said the menu was designed to cater for four-legged friends with pupcakes and puppaccinos.
She said there were plans to introduce the dog dining area to other Pancake Parlours.
“We have several other outdoor dining locations throughout Melbourne and if Knox is a success we will be making them all dog friendly – council and shopping centres permitting.”
