Mooroolbark crime: Cambridge Rd drink driver sips wine during coronavirus breach
A woman who was swerving along Cambridge Rd when stopped by police was not only allegedly breaching COVID curfew but is in hot water over what she told officers.

A woman, who allegedly drove from Heidelberg to the Yarra Ranges while sipping on a bottle of wine was almost six times over the legal blood alcohol limit.
Police stopped the woman after they spotted a car swerving all over Cambridge Rd in Mooroolbark while patrolling at 10pm on Thursday, September 9.
The woman allegedly told police she had been drinking wine earlier in the night, as well as sipping some more while on the trip from Banyule.
Police have reported the woman was taken to Mooroolbark police station and after a breath test returned a blood alcohol reading of .282.
The woman’s driver’s licence was cancelled for 12 months and car immediately impounded, which will cost her $1325.
Police said the woman was also allegedly in breach of the coronavirus lockdown rules and was fined $1652. The
Police said the woman would face court for drink and dangerous driving offences.
