There’ll also be movie-themed trivia, games and competitions in between.
The band formed as the Ringwood Band in 1918 shortly after WWI.
They’ve performed at community events and in band competitions throughout the years. Today, the band has 26 members from all walks of life.
Musical director Ron Moore, who’s been involved for 25 years, said the band was proud of its milestone and loved performing music from movies.
“What makes a good movie is the score and what makes a good community is a band,” he said.
“In today’s lifestyle, everything’s disposable, and having something that has lasted 100 years is something to celebrate.”
The concert is on at Durkin Hall at St. Johns Parish, Mitcham from 6.30pm on Saturday.
Ticketholders can bring their own food and drinks.
