The centre of Mooroolbark was brought to a standstill this morning following a four-vehicle crash in Mooroolbark.
Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the crash, which happened on Manchester Rd about 10.50am, with police, the CFA, SES and paramedics all attending.
Police were told a Mercedes Benz was travelling south when it hit an Isuzu MUX waiting to turn into a carpark in front of the shopping strip.
The impact of the crash pushed the Isuzu into a car and a small van, sending the van into the front of Manchester Road Massage, and causing the Isuzu to roll onto its side.
A 53-year-old Chirnside Park woman and a woman in her 80s were left trapped inside the Isuzu, and had to be pulled from the car by the CFA and Lilydale SES.
Victoria Police spokesman Leading Senior Constable Rohan Imms said a 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, returned a positive drug test at the scene and was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
He said investigators would speak to the man later.
SES central region operations officer Jack Evans, who was on scene, said all five people involved in the crash were fortunate they were not more seriously injured.
“They were very lucky they were able to walk away from the incident,” he said.

Mr Evans said the Manchester Road Massage store was left with a crack in its window and damage to the bottom of the shopfront.
Joy Langford, who owns nearby business Langford Patisserie, said customers told her the car that hit the Isuzu had been “going a little too fast” at the time of the crash.
She said the owner of one of the cars involved in the crash had been a customer in her business when the incident occurred.
