Man faces charges after Stamford Hotel, Rowville, armed robbery

ARMED police have arrested a man who allegedly used a gun to hold up a Rowville gaming venue.

ARMED police have arrested a man who allegedly used a gun to hold up the Stamford Hotel in Rowville.

The Rowville man, 30, is accused of entering the Stud Rd gaming venue about 8.45am yesterday.

Rowville Acting Senior Sergeant Brendan Summers said the man allegedly produced a firearm and made demands to staff to hand over cash.

He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police searched the area yesterday morning but were unable to find the man.

He was arrested by special operations group police at a Rowville property this morning, and charged by armed crime squad detectives.

He will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
