A Melbourne-based suburban footballer remains free in the community after being charged with serious sexual offending.
Max Nazzari, 20, fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with multiple rape offences.
Mr Nazzari allegedly raped a young woman multiple times earlier this year.
It’s alleged Mr Nazzari sexually violated the complainant in various manners.
Knox Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team initiated an investigation into Mr Nazzari’s alleged offending earlier this year.
Investigators arrested Mr Nazzari before charging him on October 11 this year.
Mr Nazzari, who was supported in court by close family, is a well-known local footballer in Melbourne’s outer east.
Mr Nazzari, of Lilydale, will face court at a later date.
