Knox Little Athletics runner Jennifer Lim a state champion
THIS 11-year-old from Melbourne’s outer east has only been running competitively for a year, but she’s already smashing records and winning state titles.

SHE has only been running competitively for a year, but 11-year-old Jennifer Lim is already smashing records and winning state titles.
Templeton Primary School teacher Aidan Schanssema said Jennifer (pictured) joined the school last year and, when he saw her run, he knew she had talent.
Jennifer, who lives in Wantirna, then joined Knox Little Athletics and now holds the 70m, 100m and 400m records for her age group. She even broke Olympian Brooke Stratton’s 200m club record.
Earlier this month the Grade 6 student won the Victorian Little Athletics State Championships for the 100m and 200m.
“Not bad for a girl who 12 months ago had never competed in athletics before, let alone knew she was fast,” Mr Schanssema said.
“Jennifer is very humble, gracious and very quiet and takes this amazing success all in her stride.”
Jennifer is a Knox Leader junior sports star nominee.
Leader Local Sports Stars medallists will be named in seven categories including juniors, teams, individuals, and encouragement.
The program is now a national celebration, and junior category winners will be judged for national awards.
