Knox crime: Mooroolbark man arrested after Boronia police search car in Wantirna

An afternoon nap turned into trouble for a Mooroolbark man who was slapped into a pair of handcuffs after police allegedly discovered cash and drugs in his car.

Boronia police investigated after a community member dialled 000 to report a man passed out in the driver’s seat of a car parked at the corner of Boronia and Stud roads in Wantirna at 3pm on Saturday, January 16.

Yarra Ranges Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Daniel Taylor said police searched the car and allegedly seized $300,000 in cash and drugs.

Acting Sen-Sgt Taylor said the 25-year-old man was charged with trafficking drugs and possessing the proceeds of crime.
