Customers are queuing to get into Kmart Burwood as the store follows social distancing guidelines.
A staff member at the door of the Burwood One outlet is counting the number of people entering, with a sign on the door indicating the maximum amount of customers allowed inside is 250.
Spots on the ground also indicate the 1.5m distance customers must keep while waiting in line.
Customers trying to buy items online from Kmart previously raised concerns about delays on Kmart’s website.
At the nearby Coles store customers were also queuing with the store also counting the number of customers entering the store.

At Woolworths Ashwood a staff member is also counting the customers that come through the doors and protective shields have been installed to protect staff.
In an email to customers Kmart Australia and New Zealand retail director John Gualtieri said the health and safety of its customers and team members was its number one priority.
”We’re working hard to keep our stores clean, safe and fully compliant with government regulations,” he said.
“We’ve introduced over 100 new initiatives in store to provide a truly safe environment for every person walking through our doors.”
He said physical distancing regulations had become a condition of entry into Kmart stores “which may mean that processing your purchase may take a little longer and short delays may be experienced.”
Kmart is managing the number of customers coming into its stores with store capacity signs.
“This may mean that customers will be asked to safely queue before entering our stores along with a limit of customers per aisle in high traffic areas of the store,” Mr Gualtieri said.
“During busy periods, store teams will adhere to a ‘one in one out’ system.”
Kmart has also increased cleaning of high touch surfaces and is doing deep cleans of stores each day.
Customers have also been asked to pack their own bags at check-outs to reduce personal contact in store.
