A loving dad has died in a motorbike accident in the lead up to Father’s Day, with loved ones rallying around his young family to help build his dream for his kids’ future.

Cameron Waters, 33, lost his life while in his “happy place” — riding his motorbike on a nine-day trip around Australia on Friday, September 2.

The Kilsyth father was with friends riding through Murrayville to South Australia on the first day of their journey when tragedy struck.

They had planned to head through the Flinders Rangers to Innamincka and return home through outback NSW.

Mr Waters is survived by his partner of 14-years, Natalie Upjohn, a secondary teacher at Tintern Grammar, and their two children, Thomas, 4, and Billie, 2.

He also leaves behind an extended family with three living grandparents who were “devastated at the life lost”.

Described as a man with a “happy-go-lucky attitude and the calmest human who has ever walked this earth”, Mr Waters was the breadwinner of the family and with his brother, Ashley, started a company in Bayswater North, Pak360, which specialises in environmentally friendly, compostable packaging.

Family friend Lisa Trounson launched a fundraiser to help fulfil Mr Waters’ dream for his loved ones — to live on a family property and for he and Ms Upjohn to give their two children “the greatest gift in life”, their education.

The couple were renovating the property together and had gutted the house themselves, which was how it currently stands.

Mrs Trounson said the funds “will be used to finish off his dream so the kids and Nat can make memories exactly where Cam wanted them to be made”.
