Fitness craze F45, used by Wolverine Hugh Jackman, coming to Ringwood

A TRAINING regimen dubbed the “coolest fitness kid on the block” and used by Hugh Jackman to get in shape for Wolverine is coming to Melbourne’s outer east.

IT’S been dubbed the “coolest fitness kid on the block” after Hugh Jackman used it to train for Wolverine — and now it’s coming to the outer east.

F45 Training is an Australian-based franchise set up by elite athletes to address a gap in the fitness industry.

Group classes run for 45 minutes and feature functional exercises, focusing on positions, strength and cardio.

Two personal trainers guide a maximum of 27 people through three stations, with workouts changing every day.

Former cop turned personal trainer Steve Tragardh first tried F45 last year, became hooked and decided to bring it to Ringwood.

Local celebs, footy players, actors and media figures are getting on board, including Jimmy Bartell, Dyson Heppell, Brendon Goddard, Ricky Martin, Joel Madden, Rob Mills and Emelia Rusciano.

“It’s become known as the coolest kid on the block by celebrities who use it and everyone wants to be part of it,” Mr Tragardh said.

He said gyms were often soulless and did not give results — but F45 wasn’t a gym at all.

“There are plenty of people with gym memberships who never go to the gym and when they do, they walk in with headphones and don’t talk to anyone,” he said.

“This is completely different.”

Mr Tragardh said it was a fun experience that brought people together.

“It’s the fastest growing fitness network and we want people to wake up in the morning and not be able to wait to get down here for F45.”
