The Lacey St business has been opened for just over two years and features a bar, kitchen, dining hall and beer garden, serving locally sourced food, including produce from their vegie garden.
It also hosted a five-way battle during Beer Week, where The Public Brewery and four other local beer-making heavyweights created a unique brew.
Yarra Valley brewer Hargreaves Hill was proclaimed this year’s winner with a Belgian IPA, after winning out against Two Birds, Napoleone and Riders Brew Co.
Venue manager Evan Kipping said it showed how much the craft beer industry has grown.
“We have been going through a renaissance for the past five years and it’s great to have an event like this that shows the diversity that is out there,” Mr Kipping said.
“All of our beers are exclusively Victorian and people often can’t believe that there are so many independent brewers around.”
He said there was great camaraderie in the craft brewing industry and events like Beer Week and their own brewing contest was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and share their interest in the craft.
Extended trading hours from June 1 will coincide with the launch of Wednesday night trivia.
The team is also launching a new function space in Warrandyte this year.
