A 61-year-old woman allegedly busted with huge sums of cash and drugs in her house in Melbourne’s outer east has been denied bail.

Accused drug trafficker Iris Oliveri was arrested along with her husband John Oliveri on Wednesday.

Police raided the pair’s Croydon North home and found $240,000 in cash, a $20,000 gun and $136,000 of drugs including cannabis, cocaine, heroin and Viagra.

Mr Oliveri, 56, was charged with 25 charges including traffick ecstasy, heroin, cocaine and heroin, possess proceeds of crime and commit indictable offences while on bail.

Ms Oliveri was charged with nine offences, including trafficking methylamphetamine, possess proceeds of crime and commit indictable offences while on bail.

She unsuccessfully applied for bail on Thursday night and was ordered to remain in custody until her next court appearance on November 5.

Magistrate Luisa Bazzani rejected claims she was not involved in dealing drugs.

“She is, I believe, in the circumstances, an unacceptable risk as a high-level trafficker of drugs,” she said.

“She is not a drug user, she profits and has profited no doubt for a long time from pushing these dreadful, destructive drugs upon other people for her own gain.”

Croydon detective Sergeant Ell McGibbony said officers conducted the raid after they intercepted a man driving a white Toyota Hilux on Boronia Rd at 1pm.

Sgt McGibbony said officers allegedly found a quantity of cannabis inside the car and arrested the driver, a 56-year-old Croydon man, for drug possession.

He was fined $1652 for breaching coronavirus restrictions and taken into custody at Croydon police station for questioning

Officers then raided the man’s home in Humber Rd where they allegedly discovered a large amount of cash, drugs and a shotgun estimated to be valued at $20,000.

Sgt McGibbony said the drugs included quantities of cannabis, heroin, cocaine, GHB, ice, ecstasy, hash and unprescribed Viagra.

He estimated the drugs had a total street value of more than $136,000, including about $100,000 of cannabis.
