Chirnside Park duo forced entry into secure carpark on El Centro and try and break into car

An early morning attempt to break into a car in a Chirnside Park carpark didn’t end well for a duo who crashed into a wall while fleeing the scene.

A bumbling duo smashed their car into a wall as they tried to flee after attempting to break into a car in Chirnside Park.

Yarra Ranges crime investigation unit detectives are investigating after two people forced entry into a secure carpark on El Centro Drive about 3.15am Tuesday, in a silver Range Rover police suspect was stolen.

Police were told the duo attempted to break into an unoccupied vehicle.

When the pair attempted to flee the scene, the Range Rover crashed into a wall causing damage to a pipe.

Investigations remain ongoing.
