A Berwick family is desperate to find a treasured old speedboat to honour the memory of their beloved father.

Paul Graham died on Easter Sunday, after battling pancreatic and liver cancer for eight months.

His wife Jackie and her children Jack, 23, and Tayler, 25, are hoping to buy back and restore Agro, the Stephens watercraft he had built in 1985, no matter its condition or location.

The father of two had worked as a sales representative at Burson Auto Parts in Lilydale for more than 20 years when he died at 62 in April.

Mrs Graham said her husband had the special watercraft, his “pride and joy”, built by Psycho Marine in Bayswater in 1985, shortly before the pair met and were engaged.

“Paul spent a lot of time camping on the Murray (River) at Torrumbarry near Echuca and spent most of his days on the river driving Agro up and down the river, always with a skier in tow,” she said.

The pair met in 1989 and Mrs Graham said she had fond memories of spending quality time in Agro, and also camping with their friends at Torrumbarry.

She said their now adult children Jack and Tayler grew up camping on the Murray and continued the tradition with their families and partner.

“They would love to find their father’s old boat which he treasured and had to sell due to bad financial advice in 1995,” Mrs Graham said.

So far the family have had people contact them with sightings and possible locations of where they might have seen the speedboat, but no real leads.

Mrs Graham said Agro was originally sold in 1995 to a woman who lived in Seville and enjoyed waterskiing.

She said Agro was a blue and white flat-bottom Stephens with blue and white trim and its name in silver writing on both sides.

It has a 350 Chevy mid-mount engine, with the registration number KO277, but no Victorian registration since 2008.
