CRAFT beer and cider lovers are in for a treat at a new Scoresby brewery.
Co-owners Nicole Torkar and Shane Ward opened the Beach Hut Brewery in Rocco Drive three months ago, and make their own beers and ciders on site with natural ingredients.
Ms Torkar said people from all over Victoria had dropped in to try their brews.
They had operated a smaller business in Torquay for two years, and decided to upscale in Scoresby.
“There is nothing here like (our brewery),” Ms Torkar said.
“It’s provided a great sense of community and we’ve received a lot of support.
“We love to have the community come and experience what we do here.”
She said their products were unique because they used live yeast, which left people with a very “clean mouth” feeling.
The brewery also serves beer-battered chips and buffalo chicken wings, and has visits from food trucks.
They are open Thursdays and Fridays, 3pm-late, and Sundays from noon to 7pm. They aren’t open on Saturdays.
They will be open on New Year’s Eve from 7pm to 1am. They also hold private functions.
