Two tradies have been rescued after they were allegedly working unsafely on the roof of a former Bayswater cafe.

WorkSafe and emergency services personnel including police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the site of the former Hightide cafe on High St at 1.45pm on Thursday.

The building is being renovated for an unknown new business and is opposite Bayswater’s ALDI supermarket.

Bayswater CFA commander Robert Williams said three firefighting units attended the scene following reports of two men stuck on a roof.

Mr Williams said the two men were brought down safely and no one was injured in the incident.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident and has been contacted for comment.
