Andi Hatten has found her calling after being unfulfilled with her old career and a heartfelt chat with her late father.

Ms Hatten opened the Croydon studio, Legacy Pilates and Barre, in November and more than 500 people have already been through the doors.

It offers pilates, yoga, barre and strength and conditioning classes and is named in honour of her late father Ron, who died three years ago.

Ms Hatten credited a heartfelt chat with her father as the reason she moved into the pilates industry after feeling burnt-out and unfulfilled with life as software trainer.

“I left my office job, and I wasn’t feeling fulfilled and I wasn’t in a great place,” she said.
“I had a convo with my dad, we hashed it all out, and it helped me move forward with my life.

“It (the studio) is a complete dedication to him and everything I do is always with him in the back of my mind.”

Ms Hatten said pilates was her “happy place” and offered great personal health benefits.

She said the studio supported nearby businesses and had a great sense of community, along with being a place for visitors to connect with each other.

Earlier this month, the studio raised more than $1700 to support wildlife injured in this summer’s bushfires through a day of special classes.

“For some people its an escape from everyday life and its why I got back into pilates in the first place,” Ms Hatten said.
“People go in the studio and don’t sit on their mobile phones, they get to know each other and it’s kinda nice.”

Legacy Pilates and Barre is at 1/26 Hewish Rd, Croydon.
