With friendly staff and great food, it’s no surprise Whittlesea Pizza is a hit.

The pizzeria came out on top in Leader’s poll to find the best pizza in Whittlesea, following nominations from readers.

Anthony Diliberto, who runs the business with partner Daniella Battisti, said they opened in January last year, and didn’t know what to expect when COVID hit, but have been overwhelmed by community support.

Mr Diliberto said along with their high quality pizza, the team at Whittlesea Pizza was focused on providing friendly service.

“Besides the products … more than ever, it’s the service the staff give the customers (that is important),” he said.

“The customers are coming in and the guys are really welcoming to everyone; it just makes the experience so much better.”

Customers praised the business on Whittlesea Leader’s Facebook page.

“It’s always our go to for take-out night – great pizza and friendly staff,” Julia Tornatora wrote, while Domenic D’Agostino said: “Whittlesea Pizza has great food and a friendly service that leaves you with a big smile.”
