State Government data reveals COVID cases recorded in Nillumbik
Fresh data has revealed the confirmed cases recorded in Nillumbik as a host of facilities and venues close across the council area.

More than 20 cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Nillumbik.
Latest Victorian Department of Health and Human Services data showed 21 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the municipality.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Victoria is 1281 – an increase of 13 from yesterday.
There were no new deaths reported yesterday. To date, 14 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.
The total number of cases is made up of 669 men and 612 women, with people aged from babies to their early nineties.
At the present time, there are 122 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Victoria that may have been acquired through community transmission. Currently 40 people are in hospital, including 14 patients in intensive care. 1075 people have recovered. More than 70,000 Victorians have been tested to date.
The Austin hospital in Heidelberg and Northern Health in Epping are the closest testing centres for Nillumbik residents.
Nillumbik Council chief executive Carl Cowie said the council was using State and Federal government recommendations to guide decision-making.
“Social distancing is the number one way to try and reduce the spread of the virus,” he said.
“For this reason we have closed our sport and leisure centres, Edendale Community Farm, our living and learning centres, council halls and sporting venues, Hurstbridge Hub (except for Hurstbridge children’s centre and child and maternity health centre).”
A Department of Health and Human Services spokesman said Victoria had established screening and assessment clinics across Melbourne and regional Victoria to test as many people as possible.
“And our world-class hospitals stand ready to establish more as required,” he said.
“We’re working closely with the Commonwealth Government to ensure GPs are also supported in providing advice and screening to potential COVID-19 patients.”
