Sex pest bodybuilder Peter Valsamakis jailed after posing as woman to rape man
A serial Newport sex pest and bodybuilder, who posed as a woman to sexually assault a young man, left his victim “shaken and distressed” by his deviant offending.

A serial sex pest bodybuilder who posed as a woman to lure and rape a man less than three months after getting out of jail for similar offending is behind bars.
Peter Valsamakis, 44, was sentenced in the County Court on Friday to a minimum three years’ and four months’ jail after pleading guilty to rape by compelling sexual penetration.
Valsamakis, a gay sex worker with a history of drug abuse and sexual offending, posed as a woman on sex hook up app Skout to lure his 21-year-old victim.
The court heard the pair texted and “sexted” after Valsamakis first contacted the victim on December 21 last year.
Valsamakis sent the victim “naked and nude” images of an unknown woman with brown hair.
In return, the victim sent naked photos of himself to Valsamakis.
The victim rang Valsamakis’s phone and spoke with a person with a “female-sounding voice”.
Valsamakis invited the victim to his Newport home on December 25.
He told the victim to go to the backdoor, cover his head with a T-shirt, take his pants off and get on “all fours” with his back to the door.
Valsamakis then committed lewd acts on his victim.
The victim thought “something wasn’t right” so he took off his blindfold and discovered Valsamakis between his legs.
“Are you f***ing serious?” the victim said.
Valsamakis grabbed the victim’s arm, demanded he be quiet and asked if they could talk about it, the court heard.
“F*** off, I’m calling the police,” the victim said.
The man punched Valsamakis twice but the bodybuilder retaliated by threatening to attack the victim with a flower pot.
Valsamakis, still armed with the flower pot, then chased his victim down the street.
The victim called police while being chased by Valsamakis.
Police raided Valsamakis’ home and seized Viagra but the convicted sex offender was nowhere to be found.
Valsamakis was later discovered laying face down in long grass not far from his house.
Police interviewed Valsamakis who admitted contacting the man but claimed the victim knew he was not a woman.
He said the victim wanted to “play a game” by asking Valsamakis pretend he was a female.
Valsamakis had been out of prison for just 75 days when he committed his latest offending.
The serial sex offender was sentenced to nine months’ prison last September after he pleaded guilty to procuring sex by fraud.
On that occasion, in almost identical circumstances, he lured a man to his Newport home after posing as a woman on online hook up site Locanto.
He was released last October after time served was taken into account.
Judge Patricia Riddell placed Valsamakis on a two-year community corrections order which he breached through the latest offending.
The court heard Valsamakis has a history of drug use and his sexual identity is “extraordinarily complex”.
Judge Riddell — who sentenced the serial menace again today — said Valsamakis had “guarded” prospects rehabilitation prospects.
The menace offended just nine days after fronting Judge Riddell for judicial monitoring.
She said previous orders and treatment had “not deterred (Valsamakis) from his bizarre behaviour” and prison was the “only appropriate sentence”.
“I have no difficulty accepting (the victim) was shaken and distressed by these events …,” Judge Riddell said.
“Creating a fake profile in another gender … was designed to deceive the victim … when he asked if you were a female that was your opportunity to stop but you did not desist.”
Judge Riddell said Valsamakis’s treatment should commence “as soon as possible”.
Valsamakis — who had spent 218 days in custody — was jailed for a maximum five years and two months.
He remains a registered sex offender.
