Preston’s Moondog Brewery warehouse hosts wrestling night with craft beer

Punters eagerly awaiting the opening of a tropical-themed Preston craft brewery can get their first look at it this weekend. The venue is hosting a “brewery brawl” featuring some of Australia’s top wrestlers. Here’s what to expect.

Beer lovers and fighters will both get the chance to tap out at a high-octane ringside crossover in May.

Melbourne City Wrestling will join forces with Moon Dog Brewing for Good Beer Week to bring audiences together for a night of thrills and spills.

Wrestling diehards and beer junkies can settle in for a session watching some of Australia’s top sports entertainment and see the exclusive unveiling of Moon Dog’s new brewery warehouse in Preston.

Viewers will be treated to the Australian debut of one of the biggest names in women’s wrestling, Ireland’s Session Moth Martina.

She’ll go up against dominant Australian wrestler Avary.

Moon Dog marketing manager Brook Hornung said while the brewery was still under construction, the team was excited to open up the warehouse to the public.

“It’s such an amazing space that really has to be seen to be believed — we couldn’t think of a better way than with a bunch of Australia’s best wrestlers going head-to-head in the first ever Brewery Brawl,” he said.

Doors open at 6pm on Saturday.

Good Beer Week is Australia’s premier craft beer festival and runs from Friday to May 19.
