A gunman could be holed up inside a Broadmeadows house after threatening two tradies showing up to work onsite. Armed specialist police have swarmed the home in their search for the man.

A gunman is on the run after two tradies stumbled across him in a newly constructed townhouse in Broadmeadows early Wednesday morning.
Police have cordoned off an area around Metelman Court and specialist officers are searching for the man.
The two tradies entered the townhouse they were working on and heard noises coming from upstairs about 7.15am.

The armed man came down the stairs with the gun and threatened them.
They managed to leave the premises unharmed and report the incident to police.
It’s possible the man is still inside the townhouse, but police are yet to confirm.
