One killed in Moranding smash between car and truck

A person has been killed and truck driver injured after a collision north of Melbourne.

It is understood a car and a truck collided on the Northern Hwy, Moranding about 4.15pm on Wednesday.

The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.

A police statement released on Wednesday evening said they were yet to be formally identified.

The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
