A man who allegedly crashed a stolen car into another vehicle killing a 19-year-old passenger has faced court on separate matters.

Che Practor, 22, faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday where his defence, Ms Jasmine Pisasale, asked for an adjournment in order as the legal firm had only “recently come to act” for Mr Practor.

On Thursday, Mr Practor appeared via video link from prison where he has been since being remanded after the death of a “loving and loyal” teen Lara Guglielmi, who was killed when a car Mr Practor was allegedly driving crashed into a Mercedes-Benz on Mahoneys Rd in Thomastown earlier this year.

Emergency services performed CPR on Ms Guglielmi, of Mill Park, but she died at the scene.

Thursday’s matters, which have not resolved, relate to an unlawful assault, affray, theft, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Mr Practor was arrested in March in Box Hill.

He will reappear in court early next month.
