Mates win TattsLotto using numbers of favourite North Melbourne players

TWO Melbourne mates have won almost $700,000 in TattsLotto after using jersey numbers from their favourite North Melbourne players.

Picking the numbers of his favourite North Melbourne players like Wayne Carey, Glenn Archer and Anthony Stevens proved to be TattsLotto winner for a Mill Park man.

TWO mates from Mill Park have won TattsLotto first division using jersey numbers from their favourite North Melbourne players.

The pair, who have chosen to remain anonymous, won $690,358.56 from their System 8 entry.

The blokes have known each other since they were 15 years old and have been buying TattsLotto entries together for the past 10 years.

“I’m a North Melbourne supporter so I chose some of the numbers in our TattsLotto entry from players — I’ve got Wayne Carey (18), Anthony Stevens (10) and Glen Archer (11),” one of the men said.

When Tatts rang one of the men he thought they were joking.

“I only thought we’d won about $1500,” he said.

“My mate rang me on Sunday and told me we got four straight numbers.”

He broke the news to him that it was actually six yesterday.

The man said the win was “going to go a long way” for them both.

“I’ve been working … just to make ends meet,” he said.

“But this is going to finish my year off on such a high.”

The winning ticket was bought from Plenty Valley Lotto, in Westfield Plenty Valley.

“It’s wonderful to have already sold a division one winning ticket here in round about one year of business,” Plenty Valley Lotto owner Melanie Ly said.

“We’re very happy for our winning customers and absolutely chuffed that we were a part of their life-changing win.”
