Lalor Reserve, WA Smith Reserve, Sycamore Reserve: Police hunt alleged sex offender who exposed himself in public parks

Police have released a computer-generated image of a man wanted for questioning over a series of sexual harassment complaints at parks in Melbourne’s north.

Domestic violence 'is more than just physical violence'

Police are hunting an alleged sex offender in Melbourne’s north after three women said a man masturbated in front of them at public parks.

Investigators from the Mernda sexual offence and child abuse team believe the three separate incidents are “linked” to the same offender.

One woman told police she had been walking alone along a football oval at Lalor Reserve on April 15 when the man “exposed himself and performed a lewd act” about 12.50am.

She reported the incident to police, who have since received separate complaints of “similar incidents”.

The second woman was allegedly approached by the unidentified man about 10.50am on June 7 at the WA Smith Reserve in Lalor, while the third is alleged to have occurred around 3.50pm at the Sycamore Reserve in Mill Park on June 13.

A Victoria Police spokesman said the man police believe can assist with their inquiries is described as being of Indian subcontinental appearance, about 160cm tall with a solid build and dark-coloured beard.

On Tuesday, investigators released a computer-generated image of a man wanted for questioning over the incidents.

“Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers,” the spokesman said.
