Ford Falcons theft: Man charged after Fords allegedly stolen from northern suburbs

A man has been charged after more than 30 vintage Fords were allegedly stolen from across the northern suburbs.

An alleged crime syndicate targeting the theft and rebirthing of Ford Falcons has been busted, after detectives raided a home in Melbourne’s north and arrested a man.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said it’s alleged 34 Ford Falcons, made between 1993 to 1999, were stolen from areas across the northern suburbs.

The cars were allegedly stolen from suburbs across Moreland, Moonee Valley and Hume over the last six to eight weeks.

Detectives from Moreland crime investigation unit searched a house in Greenvale on Thursday, November 25, seizing three alleged stolen Ford Falcons and arresting a 33-year-old man.

The man has been charged with 29 offences relating to the alleged theft of and theft from motor vehicles.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the County Court on March 17.

Detectives have previously found a further five alleged stolen vehicles and are continuing to make inquiries in relation to the remaining outstanding vehicles.
