More than 30 firefighters battled a blaze that engulfed an Oak Park home.
Emergency services rushed to Vincent St after reports a house was on fire with thick black smoke emanating from the roof about 10.45am on Monday.
Fire Rescue Victoria spokesman said fire crews donned breathing apparatus and attacked the blaze from outside before gaining access to fight the flames internally.
The fire was brought under control within 60 minutes.
The occupants of the house were evacuated safely and assessed by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is not known and will be investigated by FRV specialists.
