EPPING RSL sub-branch members will step back in time to mark the Anzac Day centenary.
The sub-branch will hold its Anzac Day ceremony on Sunday, April 19, and have pulled out all stops for the commemoration.
Sub-branch co-ordinator Anzac Centenary Committee spokesman Terry Power said descendants of those who served and those who have never marched before are invited to join the event.
“With it being 100 years, we think people will get on board and support it,” he said. “A group of RSL members will be dressed in 1914-1918 period dress.”
Amateur historian Lambis Englezos, who found a mass war grave of 250 Australian soldiers who fought in the Battle of Fromelles in World War I, will be a guest speaker.
The Whittlesea RSL sub-branch also has extended an invitation to descendants of those who served to march on Anzac Day.
“If sufficient numbers signify their attendance, descendants with the First World War medal group may wear them on the right breast,” Whittlesea RSL sub-branch secretary Denys Potts said.
