Epping crime: Teen allegedly stabbed at Epping train station

Four teens armed with knives allegedly demanded a boy’s phone before turning violent in a frightening attempted armed robbery in Epping.

A teenager has been stabbed by a group of youths during an alleged attempted armed robbery in Epping.

Police were told a 16-year-old boy was at Epping train station with friends when he was approached by a group of five boys, four of which were armed with knives, about 9pm Thursday.

The group demanded his phone and when he refused, they became violent.

The victim suffered a suspected stab wound and ran to Epping police station to report the incident, before he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy and three 16-year-old boys near Thomastown train station in relation to the incident.

The boys remain in custody and are assisting police with their inquiries.
