A POWERFUL voice bellowed through Channel 9’s Sydney studios during filming of The Voice blind auditions.
All four judges — Delta Goodrem, Kelly Rowland, Boy George and Joe Jonas — turned around in awe of the boy from Eltham, Ben Clark.
The self-described John Farnham tragic has performed in front of the biggest names and largest crowds, including Oprah, The Pope and a packed MCG on Boxing Day.
Mr Clark was part of musical group The Ten Tenors before he decided to focus on time with his family — wife Caitlin and two children Ivy and Owen.
He also created a permanent coffee cart — called Cafe Eden — with his mum, Glenda, at Edendale Farm.
But the 33-year-old decided to take a “leap of faith”.
“I decided the time was right to give the show a crack,” Mr Clark said.
“It’s been a great experience and by going solo I have been able to perfect every single note.”
The father-of-two belted out The Prayer, I Want To Know What Love Is and Caruso this season and vied for a place in the show’s grand final on Sunday. Sadly, he missed out on the top four.
His family, friends and legion of fans from Cafe Eden have been cheering on the father-of two.
Glenda said it’s been “nerve wracking” watching but she’s “super proud of my boy”.
“I think I’m most proud about his sportsmanship. He had a battle with Nathan who was fourth in Australian Idol the year Stan Walker won it,” she said.
“He whispered into his (Nathan’s) ear at the end of the battle, respect mate, and I love that — it’s Benjamin!”
