An 81-year-old man needed stitches to his arm after he was stabbed when a verbal argument with another customer inside a Craigieburn chemist spilt onto the street and turned violent.

An elderly man needed stitches to his arm after he was stabbed during a fight outside a chemist in Craigieburn.
The 81-year-old Roxburgh Park man was in the Craigieburn Discount Chemist at Craigieburn Central about 7pm on September 22 when he got into an argument with another man.
Hume detective Senior Sergeant Barry Gipp said the two men took the argument out into the street where it turned physical.

“The offender produced a knife and attempted to stab the victim in the head,” Sen Sgt Gipp said.
“The victim raised his arm to protect himself and he was stabbed in the arm.”
Sen Sgt Gipp said the brawling pair were then separated by a female bystander.

The man continued to try and stab the 81-year-old before he was pulled away by the woman and ran away.
Sen Sgt Gipp said the elderly man was taken to a medical clinic where he had stitches to repair the gash on his arm.
