The site of an old Meadow Heights milk bar could be transformed into a new child care centre, if the proposal wins council approval.
A development application has been lodged with Hume Council for a two-storey day care building on the corner of Baker Court and Eldorado Cres, which is currently occupied by the Happy Twins Milk Bar.

The centre would cater for up to 121 children, ranging from infants to five years old.
It would employ four full-time staff and, depending on numbers, a number of others on a casual roster.
The centre would operate Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.
The site neighbours Bethal Primary School and is about 1km from Coolaroo train station, 550m from Meadow Heights Medical Centre and 1.7km from Meadow Heights Shopping Centre.
The closest bus stop would be 300m to the south.
A basement would house 27 carparking spaces, including a disabled spot, along with seven on-street carparks.
The ground floor would have five rooms for children, a kitchen, office and reception area and an outdoor recreational space.

The first level would accommodate three rooms, a staffroom and multiple outdoor balconies.
The planning report said the centre was ideally located on a corner lot next to a school.
“The child care centre provides an important facility within an established area, accessible to public transport and amenities, within walking distance for the residents of Meadow Heights and the surrounding area and co-located with Bethal Primary School to the north,” it said.
“The scale of the facility is modest and is located on a site that is currently occupied by a building previously used for commercial enterprises.”
The plans will be on display until September 2.
The applicant was contacted for comment.
