How old were you when you took up your sport?
I was eight years old.
How did you get involved in this sport?
My mum has always played tennis and so she started me in lessons. I loved it, especially the competition side and so I kept wanting to play more and get better.
What has been your biggest success?
Winning a silver tournament and qualifying for the Bruce Cup and the nationals.
Describe your training routine:
On Mondays and Wednesdays, 6.30am at school for 90 minutes of training; Tuesdays and Thursdays, a one-hour private lesson before school; Friday mornings, 6.30am at the National Tennis Centre; Tuesday afternoon, a two-hour squad session; Wednesday afternoon, match play at school followed by training at the National Tennis Centre; Thursdays, a 90-minute private lesson; match play on Friday nights and Sundays.
What do you love most about your sport?
That it’s never over until the last ball is hit, but mostly that feeling when you hit a great shot.
Describe the toughest challenge you’ve faced in your sport:
Sometimes I struggle with my emotions and they stop me from performing my best.
What is your ultimate sporting goal?
To be number one and win the Australian Open.
