An Aussie man who lost his wallet while travelling in the UK has thanked a mystery man who returned it to his Smiths Gully address.
Richard Morris left his wallet on the roof of his rental car outside a hardware store in Melksham, a small town west of London, about a month ago.
But when Mr Morris returned to Australia this month was greeted with a package on his front doorstep, with his wallet inside.
A note from the sender, who only went by the name Pete, was also found inside the package.
It read: “Found this on the side of the road at Melksham, Wiltshire. Hope it gets back to you alright (sic). Pete.”
Mr Morris said he wanted to track down the good Samaritan so he could thank him properly.
“It had everything — my UK driver’s licence, European driver’s licence, all my cards, working with children check, safe contractor’s check, cash and nothing was missing,” Mr Morris said.
“I couldn’t believe it — this man’s kindness is completely humbling, but it’s frustrating he didn’t leave any details.
“I’d really like to send him an Aussie bottle of wine or $200 or something — that’s what all the missing contents were worth.”

Mr Morris said he had provided his details to Melksham’s local newspaper in the hope of tracking Pete down.
“I would just like to tell him that he’s a bloody legend and a good bloke,” he said.
“Sometimes your faith in humanity gets a little stretched, but the minute that happens there is always something to restore the faith and Pete’s kind act is a little reminder that we will all be OK.”
