Afternoon accident left a man in hospital after his truck rolled on the Hume Freeway

A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after his truck rolled on a busy freeway in Melbourne’s north.

A man has been taken to hospital after losing control of his small truck on a busy freeway in Melbourne’s north.

Emergency services attended an accident on the Hume Freeway near Kalkallo at 2.30pm on November 16, after the vehicle lost control and rolled, spilling dirt onto the road.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria attended the scene, with the man later taken to The Royal Melbourne hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man in his 50s had sustained serious upper body injuries.

A spokesperson from Victoria Police said the exact cause of the crash was yet to be determined.
