The Ascot Lot challenges chefs to put parmas to the vote on election day
Federal politicians won’t be the only ones gunning for your vote tomorrow as Melbourne’s best food trucks battle it out to be crowned parma masters. Here’s what’s on offer.

An Ascot Vale beer garden has tied in the upcoming election with Australia’s favourite food.
The Ascot Lot is challenging its food truck chefs to cook their own unique chicken parma tomorrow.
And in true democracy, the best will be decided by public vote.
Variations of the classic parma will include special dishes from Just Like Nonna’s, Burrito Bae
The Bearded Jaffle, Jake’s Kitchen, Parma Bites and even a traditional Soft Serve rolled in crushed Chicken Crimpy Shapes by Mr Whippy.
There’s also a vegan parma made from soy ‘chicken’ bites, Napoli sauce, and vegan cheese.

Polling will be held on the day on Facebook to determine the best parma, with prizes up for grabs for voters.
The Ascot Lot manager David Bartl said he was expecting a crowd.
“The festival was launched when the election was announced as we wanted to tie in a classic Aussie meal with the day,” Mr Bartl said.
“We got to work locking in some of the best food trucks in Melbourne who would all prepare their own variation of a parma.”
There will be $10 Jugs of The Lot lager and cider with any parma and a range of $10 espresso martini’s including the Bounty Hunter and Cherry Bite.
There will be a DJ and dogs are welcome.
