Two teenagers have been robbed – one at knifepoint – within minutes during frightening attacks near Craigieburn Library.
A 14-year-old boy was in Aitken Blvd about 9.45pm on December 7 when he was confronted by up to three men.
Detective Sergeant Evan Searle said a knife was produced and the thugs stole his phone and jacket.
About 15 minutes later another teenage boy was in Anzac Park on Central Park Ave when he was approached by a group of men who took his bum bag and money.
Sgt Searle said police were investigating whether the two robberies were linked.
The group is described as Islander in appearance, aged in their late teens and wearing dark clothing.
It comes after two men on their way home were robbed by a gang loitering near Broadmeadows train station.
A 23-year-old man was targeted in Railway Cres just after midnight on November 27.
Hume detective Senior Sergeant Ray Freeman said the man got off a train and was walking along the street when the group attacked from behind.
Sen-Sgt Freeman said the group stole the man’s phone, wallet and backpack and left him with cuts to his face.
“About half and hour later a second victim, who had also got off a train, was walking along Railway Cres when he was approached by about seven men,” he said.
“They demanded his phone, wallet, bag and jacket.”
