The height of a proposed three-storey development in Aberfeldie has drawn the ire of locals who clapped eyes on it after it went on public viewing.
The applicant for the Tamar St property is seeking to convert the old-style weatherboard house into two three-storey houses with basement garage.
The garage of each house would have room for four cars with access from a private driveway off Tamar St. The first house would include a theatre while the second would contain a gym.
But neighbours have come out against the plans.
“We are not against quality developments that improve the streetscape of our neighbourhood,” the letter read.
“This is too big and will be visually bulky, it will also be affect the privacy of many residents and not just those nearby.”
It had been raised across social media that there were concerns with the submission date originally set to close on September 23, which was part of a two public holiday stretch due to the Queen’s death
Moonee Valley City Council confirmed it had not altered the submission date to factor in the public holidays but submissions could be made until a decision was made.
The development has received 26 submissions so far with a development needing 10 submissions to be put before council at a future meeting.
