SUNBURY girl Kiralee Collings has returned victorious from the School Sports Australia under-12s basketball championship.
The point guard, who holds both basketball and netball scholarships with Maribyrnong College, played a key role in the undefeated Victorian team, which won the championships earlier this month.
Kiralee made the team after a selection process that started in March, and whittled players down to a final 10.
She is proud of her relentless defence and enjoys creating assists for teammates through precision passes.
“I love to steal the ball, and get rewarded with a score,” she said.
Kiralee has honed her play with the Dodgers in the Sunbury Basketball Association, as well as the Sunbury Jets and Bulleen Boomers in the Victorian Junior Basketball League.
She has also spent time on Basketball Victoria training camps.
Kiralee narrowly missed selection in the School Sports Victoria under-12s netball team this year.
Kiralee’s aim is to make the Victorian under-14s basketball team in 2017.
