How old were you when you took up your sport?
I started CrossFit when I was 46.
How did you get involved in this sport?
I was visiting my sister in Queensland and she was doing CrossFit at the time. She suggested I go with her to a class when it was “take a friend day” and give it a try.
I fell in love with CrossFit straight away and signed up at CrossFit Kenko when I returned back home to Sunbury.
What has been your biggest success?
Since starting CrossFit in 2014, this year would have to be my biggest success to date by qualifying to represent Victoria in both the Masters League Games 2019 and the IF3 Masters World Championships 2019.
What do you love most about your sport?
It is so diverse and extremely challenging both mentally and physically. To be able to push yourself to the limit and leave nothing in the tank is very rewarding.
‘I couldn’t have done this without support from …’
My coach Chris Gale, my nutritionist Aimee Fuller and my remedial masseuse Caitlyn Gale.
Do you have anything else you’d like to add?
Age is just a number and you are only limited by your thoughts.
I am grateful everyday for being able to do something I love and push myself to be better both physically and mentally.
I hope that my boys see me as a positive role model and I inspire them and others to be the best version of themselves.
Thanks to our partner Gold 104.3.
