STRATHMORE bowled itself back into its Senior Division fixture against Doutta Stars on Saturday after a stunning collapse of 7-24 threatened its hopes of victory at Syd McGain Oval.

The Mores recovered from 2-4 to be cruising at 3-139 with Lucas Kennedy (51) and playing coach Omar Phillips (49) in control.

Stars captain-coach Brenton Parchment turned one-man wrecking crew to dismantle the Strathmore lower-order, snaring seven wickets as the home side was dismissed for 163 in 45 overs.

Justin Bramble (26) and No.11 Will Lee (14) were the other Mores batsman to reach double figures.

Doutta Stars lost three early wickets to be 3-7 in reply, but Lorenzo Ingram and Patrick Willach steered their side to 4-84 by stumps.

The Stars are looking to consolidate themselves at the top of the ladder, while Strathmore sits third.

Meanwhile, reigning premier Yarraville Club returned to form in emphatic fashion by piling on 5-364 against Keilor.

Justin Baker (122) and skipper Andrew Cullen (100) combined for a 189-run partnership to put the Clubbers within striking distance of their first win of the season, while Konrad Kurta contributed 53.

Opener Damith Priyadarshana compiled a brilliant 186 as Seddon posted 8-348 against St Albans, while Spotswood will resume at 2-70 needing 67 runs to reel in Sunshine United’s 136.

Dan Schuppan snared his second five-wicket haul in as many matches for the Woodsmen, taking 5-31 from 18 overs, before Ross Horkings made 39 not out to put their side on the cusp of victory heading into day two.
